Stuffed Doll Pin FREE Download From Forest Hollow Studio Supplies Fabric scraps Polyester Fiberfill - small amount Small pin back Beads, mirrors, yo yos, ribbon, trims, other embellishments Cardboard (like a manila folder) or quilter's template Basic Instructions Set your sewing machine stitch to a small stitch like1.5 Trace and cut out the figures below onto cardboard or quilter's template. I know once you get started you will want to make more than just one! Trace the figure onto the wrong side of doubled fabric. This is the sewing line. Sew all around the figure. Trim leaving a seam allowance of 1/8". Cut a small slit on the back of the figure. Turn the figure right side out. Stuff lightly with polyester fiberfill. Sew the back opening closed. Embellish the front and sides. Sew the pin back to the back of the figure. Fabric and Embellishing Ideas Use some leftover patchwork from a recent quilt project. Sew scraps of multiple fabrics and trims together to create a patchwork body. Combine colors, patterns and textures to make your own interesting pallet. Make a basic body and sew yo yos around the body to add dimension. Use a variety of beads and charms to add interest and dimension. Glitter glues can add some sparkle. Add wings to make an angel or fairie. Twist and attach covered or colored wire for hair, limbs, to add beads, or just to create interesting features. Use decorative threads. If you want to embroider your fabric remember to do it BEFORE you sew the figure. Decorative threads can also be added by hand once the figure once is sewn.
